Conceptualise and produce a Hero Video which would ignite a sense of tribalism amongst Wanderer’s fans, reinvigorating their love of the club. By telling the story of the quintessential Wanderers fans experience and relating it to the everyday Western Sydney experience. To form the foundation for a social campaign that would roll out throughout the season.
On a modest budget and with limited access to athletes from the Men’s and Women’s teams we were to create a TVC which would tell the story of the quintessential Wanderer’s fan. The story would need to engage and reconnect the fans with the club for all of its qualities, not just the results on the pitch.
After a series of meetings and discussions with key stakeholders at the football club, we identified several personalities who made up the fabric of the Western Sydney Wanderers community. The idea behind the TVC was to give a snapshot into the diverse members of the Western Sydney and Wanderers community. All cast and extras in the commercial are authentic Wanderers members, fans and players. From Sudanese migrant and volunteer Angok Bol in the opening scene to the 150+ crowd chanting, screaming and celebrating in the end frame.
